This past Saturday, April 21st, our chess scholars traveled all the way to Kensington, Brooklyn in order to compete in the 2018 Chess in the Schools, Mathieu Eugene Chess Challenge. Through their dedication and perseverance, our team was able to place fourth overall, narrowly missing a tie for first, second, and third by half a point! Daisy Reynoso was awarded 7th place overall individually, finishing with a total score of 3.5 out of a possible 4. Other scholars including Lamb Mozoul, Kaylee Martinez, Charlie Chuchuca, and Melanie Chauca all received medals for their performance, with each scholar earning 3 out of a possible 4 total points.
